i am relatively new to the forum, and not quite as familiar with all of the ins and outs of jw culture as many of you are, so i apologize if this is an ignorant question.
it is quite apparent the wt has handled child abuse allegations in a horrible way, viewing it as sin as opposed to a crime.
after an allegation is reported to the elders, and they are not required by law to report to the authorities, why don't parents simply go to the authorities themselves and report the crime.

I've said to elders and others, that elders are neither required by Scripture nor qualified to investigate/deal with an accusation regarding a criminal offence. To the contrary, both the Bible and 'superior authorities' (normally) require that knowledge of a crime should be reported to the police.
Simple formula for elders to follow: Criminal act - inform the police, immoral act - deal with it!
she was getting already for service so i asked her "how do you do it?

she got all defensive and disagreed again with what i wrote to bethel and then i had to step in and tell her that its "its them that teaches that we don't have a mediator in christ and were not under the new covenant".
Ask her if she believes in the "new scrolls" which the FDS promises us, then ask her why Revelation 20:1-12 contradicts the three statements made about them by the Org;
1) They ain't "new".
2) They don't contain "wonderful new teachings".
3) They definitely ain't opened during Christ's 1000 year reign. They're opened after Satan is destroyed!
Someone at the Brooklyn Writing Committee neeeds to come up with a "new light" concerning this particular fairy story!!
Mind you, I'd honestly rather they didn't, because the joy I get revealing this blatant mutilation of inspired Scriptures to brothers & sisters (including an elder and his wife) is heart-warming!
I am happy to have spread a seed of truth which may produce fruitage sooner or later!

i hope i have not fully screwed up, it seems like my friends whom i have told my true feelings realy, really, deep down inside, love me, and that's why they have not gone to the elders.
also probably because they know that i love them and would never tell them something if i wasn't 100% convinced and knew that it wasn't true.. .

I'll repeat what we are told at our baptism - this is only the beginning!
I am still in and living the truth according to my understanding of the Scriptures, so I allow no man or Org to dictate how my Christianity should be manifest - privileges, hours in FS, etc.
Most importantly, I very cautiously point out Scriptural teachings to brothers and sisters and add a little comment, just to plant seeds. You never know, what we say may bear fruit sooner or later.

i was at the third day of a dc yesterday and in the last speech the brother who gave the talk said something like this in just one sentence:.
"we now understand that the faithfull slave is the governing body, not a the whole class of annointed, but the brothers in hq are the faithfull slave".
i was absolutely surprised by the fact that he just told it "straight out" and not in cryptical craptalk.

i was bored most of the program and when one of the speeches was being held i took the program and looked at the saturday part (apostate bladibla).
